Shoppers earn £30k in supermarket plastic bottle return trial

British supermarket, Iceland, has trialled the return of bottles bought from it's store in return for 10p vouchers with over 300,000 bottles recycled so far. That is astounding given the reward is quite low.

Children were "particularly engaged" with the deposit machines and even educated and encouraged their parents to use them, the supermarket said.

I guess for youngsters it's a bit of fun and the reward is (probably) greater than the effort required, but unless I had a bag of them, would I go to Iceland over popping it in our home recycling? Perhaps, knowing that not all recycling gets recycled due to contamination.
