Not a lot to argue with here. A 'cheap' smart speaker would be a great way to get HomeKit out to the masses in the same way Google and Amazon have, but when Apple are selling £89 Pencils, I can't see them hitting the same price points.
If you have your phone to hand, an Apple Watch or (the more limited) Apple TV then you can still get Siri to do lots of things with ease. And accessories don't have to be expensive, it's just a shame that quite a few of them are.
