The rise of 'facadism' in London

It's been a long time since I worked in London and would walk between Holborn, Covent Garden and Piccadilly at least once a week. Facadism is nothing new, but looks like it really is on the rise.

Until about 20 years ago, Ealing was my nearest cinema and after changing hands many times it became defunct. After preserving the facade for a number of years, it's now being converted into housing.

The iconic Hoover Building in Perivale has also been converted into housing, accompanied by a supermarket but kept it's original look and feel.

Gillette Corner has also had a few different uses over the years but not sure what it is right now.
