Brexit: What happens now?

A well illustrated piece by the BBC on what could happen next and how. Why a referendum or cancelling Brexit are not priority options is a mystery to me.

The Brexit Day that wasn't

Great piece by Axios on where things stand but this point is disheartening for anyone that voted to stay or now believes in remaining:

  • Never? It would take a series of unforeseen events to get to that point, but it's still a possibility.

They also link to a great piece called How the UK lost Brexit battle on POLITICO. This quote:

“We will negotiate the terms of a new deal before we start any legal process to leave.”

Was preceded by this:

...the bloc's remaining 27 national governments were urged to speak with one voice and to insist that the U.K. leave through the Article 50 process set down in EU law.

It's astonishing that anyone in government could expect the EU to act in any other way and yet the arrogance and recklessness of the politicians in the UK has us nowhere near any of the Brexiteers had promised to take us.

General Magic

I had never heard of General Magic, but came across them after a tweet from Tony Fadell, the guy behind the iPod and the Nest Thermostat.

The trailer is quite interesting and at one point they cycle through some photos and point out where the employees of General Magic are now. Some are VPs or heads of products at Apple, Google, eBay and Samsung.
