Unified inbox coming to Gmail on iOS

This update cannot come soon enough. I've banged on about Mailbox on Twitter plenty of times and while I get that it was deprecated because everyone else adopted their core function, noone did it well enough. The Gmail app is close, but still not perfect but this is a huge step in the right direction. I often don't care where an email has come in, I just need to action it later so being able to snooze any item in any mailbox is a huge, huge win.

I finally adopted Inobx by Google late last year after trying many other clients out but that's now on the way out and everyone is being pushed back to Gmail (which is not the easiest on the eye) and this is the one feature I need to make it more than just bearable.

iPad Pro — Change

More to come on the new iPads & Macs but nice to see N*E*R*D's Voila being used positively in an Apple advert after Pharrell Williams threatened to sue Trump over use of 'Happy' at a rally after the Pittsburgh shooting.

Colorised photos of a girl killed at Auschwitz-Birkenau

I didn't realise it was the same person in all three photos, mainly because the third featured a head covering which made it look like someone else. The photos are of Czesława Kwoka.

The photos themselves are not distressing, but in a way it's horrifying looking at them just knowing what happened.

"Before the photograph was taken, the girl dried her tears and the blood from the cut on her lip". (Wilhelm Brasse, the photographer).

You can buy Amaral's book, The Colour of Time where she has colourised photos taken between 1850 and 1960.

The photos also really reminded me of the film The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, based on a book of the same name which I highly recommend.
