Bon Appétit's Making Perfect: Pizza

Week 89.0 — 8th July '19

I really enjoyed the web series Bon Appétit put together on making the perfect pizza, I don't think there was a single one that came out of the over that I wouldn't have devoured. Even the anchovy pizza's, which is an ingredient I've never messed with.

Pizza Prologue

I linked to the prologue back in April and watched each episode week by week as the cast experimented and travelled trying to create the perfect pizza in every way. From dough to toppings to cheese.

Every aspect of making the perfect pizza

Starting with the dough, they moved on to the sauce, the cheese, the toppings and finally on to how best to cook your pizza:

I really had no idea that pizzas could be cooked so quickly and now I'd love to have a pizza oven. The episode on cheese was great to see, there's a real skill in being able to create the perfect mozzarella.

Over the past few years, I've fallen in love with simple pizzas again. The less the fuss the better. Just give me a good sauce, a good cheese and maybe some basil and I'm happy. It's been my favourite food for as long as I can remember and despite it's simplicity, you can put as much effort into it as you want.
