Week 238.0 — 16th May '22

This past week I recorded my first webinar for magLabs on the topic of Agile Tools & Techniques.

Being my first webinar, a few nerves but I think we covered various aspects of agile software development pretty well. I have a many thoughts on estimations but covered off the basics in this video.

I've been working within agile frameworks for around 14 years now and while following Scrum well can feel daunting I find that taking the bits that work for you as a minimum can help to keep your project management reigned in and the project itself on track. I feel like KanBan can get a bad rap, but when combined with elements of SCRUM it really does help to keep the momentum on a project and I won't object to it often.

I had a short stint in 2014 where I worked for an agency which was all about the here and now and it's just not a format that works for me anymore. My first 18 months as part of the team at magLabs have been great and we're constantly improving how the teams work as we go.

I'd love to know your thoughts on the video and even on my presenting skills as this was well outside of my comfort zone.
